Mainline Works of 400V System Upgrade on Beijing Metro Fuba Line Successfully Completed
Source: Date:2026年02月11日

In the early hours of January 4, following the phased acceptance of the Xidan Station West Step-Down Substation, the 400V low-voltage power supply system upgrade project on the Beijing Metro Fuba Line (the former name of the Fuxingmen–Bawangfen section of Line 1), undertaken by the Urban Rail Transit Company of China Railway Electrification Engineering Group, saw all switchgear equipment in 19 mainline substations fully upgraded and officially put into operation.

The Fuba Line was opened in 1999, and its power supply system has been in continuous operation for more than two decades. To enhance safety and reliability, the upgrade project was officially launched on May 1, 2025, at the Yong’anli West Step-Down Substation. The works undertaken by the Urban Rail Transit Company covered 19 mainline substations and three substations at the Sihui Rolling Stock Depot, involving equipment replacement and automation upgrades.

This project is the largest in scale and the most technically complex low-voltage power supply system upgrade in the history of the Beijing Metro. Construction carried out during the nightly window period from 00:00 to 04:00 ensured zero disruption to passenger travel.
